Ruben Morales is a "rara avis" within the photographic scene around me. When all flee in terror from the shadows of the laboratory, the addictive fixer whiff of the seductive thiocarbamic of the yellow nails, the uncertainty of whether the latent image after a peek at the light will remain able to beat our emotions. In short ...... when they all leave the vertigo and anxiety produced by fear of failure in obtaining a good photograph, Reuben, then goes and decides to go the opposite way. As Brad Davis in Midnight Express, decides to sail in opposite directions at the wheel of fashion and commercially imposed of digital. Rubén started in the photograph stuck to a monitor and a mouse, six years ago he decided to embrace a ROLLEIFLEX and fall under the TRI-X. The result has been more encouraging. His images honest, hardworking and outright not cease to be recognized by specialists in photography, and as good bullfighters ago this month doubled in Gijón and in Talavera de la Reina.
"The hunter of silence"
Photographing Silence is not easy, not always seen. But watch carefully these copies, and I can hear, even see a diffuse what passed there.
When people leave, flee or die leave behind real treasures which time, in their continuing walk, is blurring the facts and drawing the waste.
And here the solemn beauty of decrepitude, the evocative silent whisper of history that give off the walls and the eternal contemplation of something that may no longer exist ...
Among the decrepitude and eternity I am in this moment as a spectator, to interpret what the passage of time left before my eyes.
